About DLSU Grading System

De La Salle University (DLSU) uses a 4.0 grading scale. Unlike some US universities that use letter grades (A, B, C), DLSU typically uses specific numeric increments.

The standard grading table used in this calculator is:

  • 4.0 - Excellent
  • 3.5 - Superior
  • 3.0 - Very Good
  • 2.5 - Good
  • 2.0 - Satisfactory
  • 1.5 - Fair
  • 1.0 - Passed
  • 0.0 - Failed

Dean's List Requirements

This calculator also checks if you qualify for the Dean's List based on typical DLSU standards (please verify with your specific college handbook as rules may vary):

  • First Honors (1st DL): GPA ≥ 3.400 and no grade below 2.0.
  • Second Honors (2nd DL): GPA ≥ 3.000 and no grade below 2.0.

Note: You must also have a minimum of 12 academic units to qualify for the Dean's List.

How to Calculate GPA?

The formula for calculating your Grade Point Average is:

GPA = (Sum of [Grade × Units]) ÷ (Total Units)

For example, if you got a 4.0 in a 3-unit subject and a 3.0 in another 3-unit subject:
(4.0 × 3) + (3.0 × 3) = 12 + 9 = 21 (Total Points)
21 ÷ 6 (Total Units) = 3.500 GPA
